Personally Ian I would feel a bit concerned about being a member of the auction website you are promoting here. Apart from the fact that apparently according to the site one of the people involved is an undischarged bankrupt, a large proportion of the listings are in the so-called Adult section. Some (all?) of these are R18 DVD's which can only be sold legally in a licensed sex shop - they are not supposed to be sold by telephone or mail order. Now I think we could probably both agree the law is a bit of a mess in this area as it is perfectly legal for companies outside the UK to sell adult DVD's to here and for people here to buy them.

It's obviously up to you whether you want to take the risk of allowing this material on your site. But what I find really objectionable is that you don't have to be a member of your site to look at these titles with their graphic photos & crude texts. So kids can easily find & look at them which I think most people would feel is wrong. Certainly the vast majority of sites which have "adult" sections have restrictions against non-members browsing those areas. So though I don't have a problem with people selling this material I most certainly do when the section is not ring-fenced to prevent children from viewing. I hope you'll reconsider this.

Hello Enthusiast

The first point about the bankruptcy, that's me, I am a Bankrupt although from what I understand I am now Discharged. I can't say for definate as they haven't sent me the papers yet despite my requesting them formally. I have long since given up being embarrassed about the affair and probably need to point out that the site is with the official receivers knowledge.

As for the second point on what sellers actually sell. We do take the view that it is the sellers responsibility to make sure they are allowed to sell something after all each sale is recorded and so if they are not selling items they are allowed to at some point it's going to come back to bite them on their arse! Anxious

The Porn, you are absolutely right of course and we feel much the same way. We have an internal problem/glitch which we need to fix that will stop it. Once the update is installed a user will have to agree to go into an adult area. I don't like the present situation but we are having major problems with the company we bought it from php probid and until we can get straightened out we are a bit stuck. I am working on this as fast as I can though.

I really do appreciate your comments and will always welcome more..... Smile
