People spend far too much money on Christmas presents imho and so many of those presents are unwanted and unused. At Christmas 2006 I gave what I thought was a useful present to a friend who regularly sells on eBay. In January 2007 to my surprise the gift turned up on eBay and sold for 99p although I'd paid £9.99 for it. So at Christmas last year a lot of the presents I gave were Charity donations for health aids and animals to help poor people in impoverished countries. At least the money is doing some good - in the western world we don't know how lucky we are in comparison.

Very True! This year rather than complaining about how commercialised
Christmas had become all the family decided to change things around.
Bought presents only for immediate family which not only saved money
but also a hell of a lot of stress trying to find something that wasn't
completely useless.

Also true - spent some time in Zambia and it certainly made me appreciate and be thankful for what we have here!

Cheers
