I'm baffled why you should go to the bother and expense of introducing a new online payment system when there are in fact dozens out there, some good, some middling, some rubbish and some, sadly, set up by fraudsters to catch the unwary. General opinion is that the four best are (in no particular order) Google Checkout, Nochex, PayPal and Moneybookers. All except, I believe, Nochex can deal with international transactions and various currencies. You will find that hardly anyone will use your new payment provider as 99% of the general public are very wary and stick to brands they know. Even eBid have found this, though they push pppay.com on their site and have done for years, hardly anyone uses it. You would do better to set up direct payment links on your site for all or some of the providers I've mentioned. This will encourage people to buy, especially for fixed price buy-it-now type items. |
